FDA Straw City takes home another Gold from Cresta Awards 2017

18 October, 2017

Cresta International Advertising Awards recognize creativity in the absolute as opposed to the use of a “best of” system applied across a long, and often artificial list of categories. The entries were judged on the basis of two criteria only: the originality of the idea; and the quality of its execution. From the 53 countries participating in this year’s awards, 26 achieved finalists status. A total of 234 finalists were chosen by close to 80 top creatives.

All finalists were evaluated in early August through early September by Cresta’s International Grand Jury of 86 internationally known creative directors, film specialists, graphic artists and interactive professionals. Presiding over the Grand Jury was Yuya Furukawa, Chief Creative Officer, Dentsu Inc., Tokyo. “There are many issues concerning awards shows but those that are particularly important are: quality of judges, problem of scam ads, fairness of judging, and heavy focus on social issues. All the shows right now seem to be losing their direction and identity. In this context, Cresta has its own unique methods. No discussions. 100% is done by majority voting. It’s one effective way to achieve political correctness. There’s no room for bias, and the healthy judging results prove this. I believe if more new but unknown work are discovered through this judging, the value of Cresta as an award will be even greater”, said Mr. Furukawa.

With all of that in mind, Alt is delighted to have been awarded a GOLD Award for Animation in the Film Craft Category!
