In a dream-like masterpiece, Alt.vfx worked with director Brendan Savage of New Holland Creative to realise a perfect vision designed to show the full pixel power and stunning colour offered by the new Sony BRAVIA screens. This breath-taking journey travels through snowy mountains into ice caves and crystals, through sand particles into the Antelope canyon, ending on the Milky way in a time lapsed evolutionary visual experience.
VFX Supervisor Andrew Hellen, commented: “Sony BRAVIA was an interesting challenge. One minute of full CG, 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with no cuts. One single camera move through multiple environments. We had nowhere to hide, no editorial tricks, so everything had to be perfect, super crisp, colourful and seamless.
“We started with pre-visualisation using rough geometry to get the flow of the camera working through the multiple environments ensuring everyone was onboard with the narrative and flow of the piece.
“Brendan’s vision was both ambitious and well thought through, and also flexible enough to allow us to also bring our animation and CG experience to the table on such a unique challenge. The technical challenges of working to the Sony BRAVIA LCD and OLED colour profiles meant a close relationship with Sony’s technical team was needed from beginning to end.”
